COLSON, Bolton or Bolter Colsen, wife Sarah, w18941, Mass line, soldier appied 6 Nov 1832 Middlesex County Mass, aged 88 a resident of Pepperell, Mass, soldier was born 6 Jan 1774 at Weymouth Mass, soldier lived at Bath in Dist of Maine at enlistment, and moved back to Pepperell, Mass, widow applied 28 Aug 1838, Middlesex, County Mass, Soldier married Sarah Holbrook on 9 Jun 1785 at Weymouth in Norfolk County Mass, soldier died 21 or 22 Mar 1837 at Sharon NH.

COLSON, Christopher, Patty, W25437, BLW #1904-160-55, Mass Line, soldier applied on 24 Jul 1818 in District of Columbia aged 54 formerly a resident of Chargrin in state of Ohio, soldier enlisted at Amherst Mass, soldier's widow Hannah Hall applied 28 Nov 1850 Geauga County Oh, aged 82, soldier died 22 Nov 1824 age 60 years and soldier's widow married 2 oct 1788 at Cummington Mass and they had 7 children and after they were married l3 years they had a disagreement and parted and the soldier married Patty Brown of Plainfield in 1806 and she (Hannah)was married to John Hall of Stamford VT and he was a resident of Windsor in Berkshire County Mass and they lived there until he died about 1818 and she lived at Windsor Mass until 1 Oct 1850 and moved to Chester in Geauga County OH, widow's name before marriage was Hannah Robinson (also shown but not related to this family was the marriage of Jacob Nash of Plainfield Mass and Johannah Reed of Cummington Mass) Soldier had married Patty Brown on 23 Nov 1806, soldier and widow Hannah were divorced on 21 Sep 1804 at Shaftsbury in Bennington County VT and he stated widow had deserted him on ll Nov 1800, soldier's widow Patty Colson applied 15 Feb 1853 Lake County OH aged 73 resident of Willoughby Township OH, stated she and soldier had the following children; Lira b. 9 Oct 1807, Simira b. 4 Jun 1809, Emily b. 16 Feb 1811, Christopher b. 15 Nov 1814 and Patty b. 13 Mar 1824, widow Patty Colson applied for BLW 17 Mar 1855 Lake County OH aged 75.

COLSTON, Samuel, BLW #2294-300, Virginia Line, one Alexander McGrew and his wife Carolinna signed power of attorney to pursue a claim based on the service of her great uncle Samuel Colson and was signed 12 Jan 1842, soldier was a Capt in the Rev. War and died about 1778 or 1779 intestate without lawful issue leaving his oldest brother William Colston his only heir at law and the said William Colston died in 1780 leaving a will and left 3 children; William Traverse Colston who died many years prior to 1842 leaving 4 children; William and Armistead of Virginia and Lucy L. who married Dr. Joshua H. Thomasf and Susan P.N. Wife of Jefferson Jennings of KY all living in 1842, and soldiers daught Elizabeth L. maried Dr. Benjamin H. Hall and died many years before 1842 in KY leaving 3 children; William E. Hall who died prior to 1842 without issue, Carolina C. Wife of Alexander McGrew and Lucy Hall who died prior to 1842 without issue and soldiers daughter Susan married a man named Turner who was dec'd in 1842, on 3 Oct 1842 in Henrico CO Virginia surviving heirs were shown as: William, Armistead, and Susan P.N. Jennings and Lucy L. Thomas children of William Traverse Colston and William E. Hall, Caroline McGrew and Lucy Hall children of Elizabeth L. Colston Hall, and Susan Turner daughter of William Coston only surviving legal heirs of soldier.
