These are Colsons that I or others have found in our research that I have no idea how they connect to the Colson family. If you have any information on these people or have some orphans of your own to add to the list, contact Eleanor Colson at EleanorCol@aol.com.

Samuel, Abraham, and John Colson, Northampton Co, NC
Isaac, Abraham, and Joseph, Charles City County, VA
Etheldred Colson, Hertford County, NC
Deeds found online. Is this Abraham the son of Jacob and Mary?
Which John is this? There was an Esther Kerby involved in a deed with John,
Sr, son of Jacob in Chowan District, NC but he was dead in 1746. And who is
Samuel? Could it possibly be Sanders, son of John and Susannah of Bertie Co, NC?

I've run across another Etheldred Colson/Coleson, this time in NC. He is found in Hertford Co, NC as early as 1830 per census records. Hertford County was formed from portions of Bertie, Chowan and Northampton Counties, NC. In 1800, there is a James Colson in Hertford who I think is probably the same James Colson that was in Northampton in 1790 and might be tied to Sanders Colson of Northampton. Also on the 1830 census a page over from Etheldred is who I think is probably his mother, and her name is Barshaba! She is a good age to be his mother. Does anyone recognize these Colson/Colesons at all?
