Dear Cousin Maggie,
As Mama has just finished a letter to Aunt Sallie, I thought I would write you a few lines, but the times are so dull, I hardly know what to write that would be interesting to you, but I can say, I have the sweetest little sister that can be found in all the country. She is so full of fun and frolic all the time, she is a great deal of company for sure, so much more than a boy would be. I have raised and sold $1.00's worth of missionary chickens, what are you doing for the missionary's, I expect I will start to school as soon as the weather gets settled, it has rained evry day for a long time, we are getting too much rain now. we have no nice fruit except figs. I will have to close, as Mama says I must not write but two pages, as her letters are so long, give my love to Cousin Walter, Mims, Minnie, and Lovlie, Kiss Jeffie and Estelle, give my love to Dear grandma and Aunt Sallie, and Uncle Jeff, and a good share for yourself, you must write to me soon, and I will try, and do better next time. tell Cousin Walter and Mims to write to me, Abbie and Johnnie send love to you all,
your loving Cousin, Lula
